How to reset or amend a GST report in Farm Focus

Why reset or amend a GST report?

If you have finalised your GST return and realise changes are needed, Farm Focus allows you to reset the last finalised period to make corrections. If the return has already been filed with the Inland Revenue we do not recommend reverting the finalised return and making any changes without checking with your accountant. 

Resetting a GST report

NOTE: You can only reset the most recent finalised GST return. 

1. Go to Reports > GST Returns.
2. Locate the period you need to reset and open the report.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the report and select Revert to preview.
4. If you are sure you want to reset the GST report, click Revert in the message box that appears.

The report will revert to a preview so you can make your corrections.

TIP: Don't forget to finalise the report again once you are ready to file it with the Inland Revenue.

What if your return has already been filed with the Inland Revenue?

If your GST return has already been submitted to the Inland Revenue, you have two options:

1. Contact Inland Revenue:

   • If you recently filed the return incorrectly, contact Inland Revenue as soon as possible.
   • They may help you correct the information.
   • After that, reset your GST return in Farm Focus and make the necessary corrections.

2. Re-submit the report:

   • You will be prompted to answer some questions to justify the amendment.
   • Follow Inland Revenue guidelines for making adjustments to previously filed returns.
