How to set up Milk Production codes to activate the Dairy Forecaster

Set up your Milk Income codes

 If you have not previously set up Milk Income codes in Farm Focus, follow these steps to enable the Dairy Forecaster in your Working Plan.

• Log into Farm Focus and go to Settings > Codes > Farm Codes.

• In the INCOME section, click the three-dot menu on the right-hand side and select New Category.

• Fill in the required details:

  • Section: INCOME

  • Category Code: Choose an abbreviation (e.g., MP for Milk Production).

  • Name: Enter a relevant name for the milk production in your business.

  • GST Type: Set to Business.

  • Tags: Apply a tag if needed.

• Scroll down to KPI Reporting Group and select the relevant milk production type:

  • Milk - Dairy

  • Milk - Goats

  • Milk - Sheep

• Click Done to save.

Create Extended Codes You now need to create Extended Codes within this category.

• Click the three-dot menu on the right-hand side of the Milk Production category and select New Extended Code.

• Enter the details:

  • Name and abbreviated code: Create a code for This Season’s production.

  • Tags: Apply any relevant tags.

  • Type: Select Milk Solids.

• Choose your Milk Company from the list or select Other if it is not listed.

• Select your Business Model:

  • Owner

  • Sharemilker

  • Contract Milker

The Dairy Forecaster will now be active in your Working Plan, allowing you to plan your dairy production and payments for the season.

Additional Extended Codes You can create multiple Extended Codes under this category for other items such as:

• Last season’s deferred payments

• Levies

• Deductions

NOTE: Ensure the Type is set to Income or Expense, rather than Milk Solids, where applicable.
