How to import goPayroll invoices into Farm Focus

Steps to Complete

Follow these steps to import your goPayroll or SmoothPay invoices into Farm Focus:

Step 1: Upload the Payroll File

• Go to the Needs Action screen in Farm Focus.

• Select Payroll File from the File upload modal.

Step 2: Choose Your Provider

• Select goPayroll (or your relevant provider).

• Click Browse to locate the payroll file on your device (it should be a .txt file).

NOTE:

Before importing, download the file from your payroll provider's website.

Step 3: Import the File

• Click Import to upload the payroll file into Farm Focus.

Step 4: Review the Invoice

• You’ll see the goPayroll invoice in the Needs Action screen, with the amount set to $0.00.

• Click on the invoice to open it.

Step 5: Delete the Net Wages Line

• Locate the Net Wages line on the invoice (this may appear as "Control," "Net," or something else depending on the payroll provider).

• Click the three dots beside the line and select Delete line.

Step 6: Update the Total

The invoice total will be updated once the Net Wages line is deleted.

Step 7: Code the Invoice

• Code the invoice to the appropriate account in Farm Focus.

Step 8: Save the Invoice

• Click Save to store the updated invoice.

Step 9: Match with Bank Transaction

• The goPayroll invoice will reappear in the Needs Action screen, now greyed out.

• This means the invoice is coded and ready to be matched with the bank transaction once the wages have been paid.

TIP:

Ensure you have downloaded the payroll file from your provider’s website before starting the import process.
